The general daily maintenance of asphalt pavement can be divided into hot mix asphalt treatment pavement, asphalt penetration treatment pavement, asphalt surface treatment pavement and emulsified asphalt treatment pavement initial maintenance.

 

1. Initial maintenance of hot mix asphalt treatment pavement

(1) The pavement of hot mix asphalt mixture after paving and compacted can be opened to traffic only when the paving layer cools naturally and the surface temperature of the mixture is lower than 50;

(2) Vertical and horizontal construction joints are the weak links of asphalt pavement, should strengthen the initial maintenance, at any time with tools to find exposed slight uneven, shovel high fill low, after napping, with mixed material pad flat, compacted.

 

2. Initial maintenance of asphalt penetration type pavement

(1) After the completion of the road surface, when the traffic is open, the speed limit of vehicles running is below 15km/h, which is gradually increased to 20km/h according to the surface forming condition;

(2) Assign a special person to direct the traffic or set up a temporary road sign, press both sides first, then control the vehicle easy to track in the middle to achieve comprehensive compaction;

(3) The caulking material dispersed by the driving shall be swept back, evenly and compacted at any time to form a smooth and dense upper sealing layer. When the road flooded with oil, it is necessary to timely fill the same seam material as the last layer of ore construction, and control the rolling.

 

3. Initial maintenance of asphalt surface treated pavement

(1) The requirements for lay-up asphalt surface treatment roads are  the same as those for penetration pavement basically;

(2) The requirements for mixing asphalt surface treatment roads are the same as those for hot mix asphalt pavement basically;

 

4. Initial maintenance of emulsified asphalt pavement

(1) Emulsified asphalt pavement has poor stability in the early stage. After compaction, the road surface should be maintained in the early stage and managed by a special person. According to the actual demulsification situation, traffic should be closed for 2-6h;On the section of road without breaking emulsion, all vehicles, people and animals are strictly forbidden to pass through;

(2) In the early stage of traffic opening, the speed should be controlled not more than 20km/h, and no braking or reversing should be allowed.When there is damage, it should be repaired in time.

 

Daily maintenance requirements

(1) During the inspection, if debris is found on the road surface, it shall be cleaned timely to keep the road surface clean.

(2) Daily cleaning of asphalt pavement shall be carried out mechanically or manually according to the actual situation.

(3) The cleaning frequency of asphalt pavement should be determined according to the degree of road pollution, the size of traffic volume and its composition, climate and environmental conditions and other factors;The cleaning frequency of asphalt pavement in large tunnels and Bridges should be increased appropriately.

(4) In order to prevent dust from polluting the environment and endangering the driving safety when cleaning the road surface, sprinkler system should be equipped for mechanical cleaning, and appropriate sprinkling amount should be determined according to the dust degree of the road surface.

(5) It is strictly prohibited for crawler vehicles and iron-wheel vehicles to drive directly on asphalt pavement. If driving is necessary, corresponding measures should be taken.

(6) After the rain road water places should be promptly removed.
